Chili Cook-Off Instructions for Entrants

Hello Chili Cooks!   

Here is the information for the 2025 Chili Cook-Off!

First, we want to thank Room 3 Vintage for hosting us again this year!  Room 3 is providing us with a tent and two tables for our chili contest.   

The Village Bazaar will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
The cost to enter your chili in the contest will be $10.00. Tickets to taste the chili selections and vote for favorites will be $3.00.

Please let us know of your intent to participate in advance by contacting Mark Ayers at [email protected], and provide us with a “Title” and or “Description” for your chili. We will print a placard to place in front of your chili on the serving table. The chili tasting will be self-serve by tasters/voters, and TVAA will provide utensils, napkins, and bowls.

Arrival Instructions: Please pre-heat your chili and arrive about 30 minutes before we open. You will need to bring your chili in something that can keep it warm for several hours, such as a Crock-Pot.  We will provide as many plugs as we can for food warmers. Tasting and judging will take place from 10 AM to 2 PM. Your chili will be given a random ID number for voting purposes.  
Don’t be shy about your chili, and bring a good amount as we did run out of some selections last year before voting ended!  

Chili Selection Process:  Each voter will be given a ballot with spaces to select their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place favorites from the chili samples they tasted. At 2:00 PM, all of the votes will be tallied, and the chili with the greatest number of 1st place votes will win 1st place, the chili with the greatest number of 2nd place votes will win 2nd place, and the chili with the greatest number of 3rd place votes will win 3rd place.  

Trophies and prizes will be awarded to 1st through 3rd place contestants!
