The Village Animal Welfare Mural

The Village Animal Welfare mural was installed on May 17, 2025, and brings a wave of color, creativity, and community pride to our local animal shelter. Designed by artist Alex Nash and brought to life by a team of dedicated volunteers, the mural celebrates the joy and companionship that animals bring into our lives.

The mural was a collaborative effort between The Village Animal Welfare and The Village Arts Association (TVAA). The project drew on the talents of volunteer painters Alex Nash, Elora Ayers, Patti Rubin, Tara Ayers, and Erin Varvel.
Painting supplies were donated by The Village Ace Hardware, and by TVAA members Mark and Tara Ayers.

The mural is open to public viewing at The Village Animal Welfare, located at 1701 NW 115th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. The shelter welcomes visitors to stop by, take photos, and meet the adoptable pets currently housed at the facility.
The Village Animal Welfare is “dedicated to providing every animal with the best possible chance at a happy life,” and this mural serves as a bold symbol of that mission.

Intersection of Britton Road and May Avenue, The Village, OK

Painted by Village resident Peg Davison, this piece depicts a boat race that took place at Lake Hefner in the 1990's. The painting was digitized and transferred onto a vinyl wrap. The wrap was installed on the traffic control cabinet located at Britton Road and May Avenue on July 22, 2026.
